The premier launch of “Patriot Pub” last night was a complete success. The idea of the show is to create a virtual, 18th-century colonial American tavern where complete strangers become friends and discuss anything and everything from philosophy to religion while sharing a drink. Afterall, the discourse in taverns from New England down to Georgia produced the American Revolution and a wave a liberty that travelled around the world. (Sounds like a working formula to me!) Our goal is to have intelligent, interesting people from completely different backgrounds seated at the same round table and see what we can achieve. This might sound risky, but, heck I believe in individuals and so does most of the U.S. since we believe in self-rule, right?
Show #2 of Patriot Pub (Thursday, December 17th) featured host Matt Fitzgibbons, co-hosts Toni Slate and D’Artis (Myth) and our special guest: Joe Bill Schirtzinger of HermeticLightLifeCoaching.com. Also, D’Artis “Myth” joined Matt on-air for the first time.
Show #3 of Patriot Pub (Thursday, February 25th) featured host Matt Fitzgibbons and co-host Toni Slate.
Topic: Privacy in the Digital Age.
What a great show! Toni and I started with status updates. I announced my recent Honorable Mention in the Song Door 2015 International Songwriting Contest for my soon-to-be-released song “Eye of the Hurricane” and I let everyone know about my upcoming interview on WarriorTalkRadio on 3/15/2016.
I gave a synopsis of the DoJ’s recent court order to Apple Corporation demanding they write software to enable them access to the San Bernadino shooter’s phone and offered my view from a Constitutional perspective. Within a few minutes we got our first caller. By the end of the first half, we had 3 callers, which makes a total of 5 people (including Toni and I) simultaneously.
The conversation was so good, there was only time to play one song:

The show met the goals of Patriot Pub perfectly. It really felt like 5 people sitting around a table in a warm and comfortable environment, drinking and waxing philosophically. As usual, we veered from the stated topic more than once, but we got back on track and offered our opinions of whether privacy will even be possible in the near future.
Show #4 at Patriot Pub on Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day) featured host Matt Fitzgibbons and co-host Toni Slate.
Topic: Memorial Day
Liberty depends on two things:
Allowing your neighbor to be free and being willing to sacrifice everything for it. History teaches us that nothing less will suffice.
On Memorial Day, 2016, Matt & Toni spoke about the importance of remembering those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we, today could have the freedom to squander it away. We also had a special caller (Annie, The host of Southern Sense Radio, which is one of BlogTalkRadio’s most successful political shows). Matt also did a special pre-screening of one of his new, yet-to-be released tracks from soon to come series of releases .
